Jenna Strover discusses the Inspiring Women in Property Awards

Inspiring Women in Property Awards

Judging at the Inspiring Women in Property Awards was such a privilege as I reviewed some of the most accomplished women in the property industry. Being part of this process allowed me to celebrate the significant contributions women make to our sector. In this blog I go into more detail on the importance of awards like these.

The Judging Process

For the awards, I was involved in assessing two categories: Commercial Woman of the Year and Commercial Leader of the Year. We received submissions from 42 remarkable women, each showcasing their skills, leadership, and dedication. As a judge, my role was to review each submission in line with the established criteria and score them out of 100. Once this initial scoring was complete, us judges met in person to discuss our evaluations and reach a consensus on the winners. This process ensured that we considered the broader impact of their contributions on the industry from lots of different points of view.

Awards like Inspiring Women in Property offer a platform to champion women’s achievements in what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, shining a light on the talent and leadership that women bring to the table. We want to inspire the next generation of women to pursue and thrive in careers in the property sector.

What’s next?

At Potter Space we actively support initiatives that recognise women's successes, and we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow and succeed. Participating in these awards is just one way we contribute to recognising and supporting women’s careers, but there is more to be done.

Reflecting on my 17 years in the industry, I’ve seen a noticeable shift towards greater inclusion of women, particularly in senior positions. My advice to women considering a career in property is to embrace the opportunities ahead, while acknowledging that challenges may arise. Like any career, there will be highs and lows, but perseverance, resilience, and the support of a strong network can help women succeed.

By offering mentorship both internally and externally, we hope to encourage more women to pursue roles in the property sector, and by leading by example, we ensure women are given the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

I’m particularly encouraged to see more women rising to senior positions across the sector. It’s clear that the industry as a whole is moving in the right direction, with more women stepping into leadership roles and driving change from within.
